Naturally dyed with Madder roots

The colors of our Botanichrome capsule are obtained from plant dyes: leaves, berries and roots that give soft shades to our certified 100% Merino Wool yarn, a strong and fine material with a silky feel to the touch which fibers measure 19.5 microns in thickness.

Being found in nature, these dyes come from completely renewable sources, they are not toxic to the environment and gentle on your skin. 



This piece was dyed with Madder, an extremely ancient dyeing ingredient, extending back at least to 2000 BC. The dyeing principle, hidden in the aromatic root of the plant, takes the name of alizarine and gives a vibrant red shade to the yarn.
