THE KNITWEAR CARE GUIDE
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR PIECES
To make your knits last forever, you just need to follow a few simple steps with the help of some delicate care products.
Before washing, make sure to turn the piece inside out to prevent ruining and pre-treat it with a stain remover, in case it’s stained.
Wash your garment by hand in lukewarm water or in the washing machine with an hand-wash or delicate cycle at 30° for up to 30 minutes. Do not use the spin dryer, to prevent shrinkage.
Use a mild detergent (Ph 8+) or a cashmere and wool detergent to maintain its softness and shape.
After washing, Never tumble-dry knitwear: it can cause damage and might even shrink your garment.
Simply rremove excess water from the knit by rolling it in a towel and pressing it gently.
Next, lay it on a flat surface and let it air dry at room temperature, avoiding direct contact with the sun.
After drying, lay the piece on a flat surface and use the steam from the iron about an inch away, without letting it directly touch the knit.
The heat and moisture from the steam are also very helpful in removing creases and refreshing the piece between uses.
To store your knitwear in the closet, fold the pieces on a shelf and do not hang them to prevent losing their shape.
Always remember to place natural moth repellents between them (unfortunately, moths love good wool!) and, when putting away the pieces for the seasonal change, prefer cloth bags to further protect them during the warmer season.
In case of pilling, which occurs on knits due to the material rubbing against itself or other surfaces, lay it on a flat area and gently brush it with the pilling knitwear comb in one direction to easily remove it.
